Meet the Mentors
The people behind your learning journey.
Alex Atter
Founder & Lead Tutor
Hello, and welcome to Horizon Tutoring! My name is Alex Atter, and I founded this company from a genuine passion for teaching and a deep commitment to helping students who may be struggling in their academic journey.
In classrooms of 30 or more students, it’s no surprise that some learners can fall behind and find it difficult to catch up. Too often, families are met with endless worksheets, premium rates, and little real progress.
Our purpose is simple: to help students rebuild their confidence, strengthen their skills, and ultimately become independent learners—all while keeping tutoring affordable for families.
We believe great tutoring should make itself unnecessary. Our work is complete when a student no longer needs us.

Ali Alawi
Mechanical Engineer & Thermal Sciences PhD Candidate
“My name is Ali Alawi, and my journey in mechanical engineering – from my bachelor’s and master’s degrees to my current PhD research in Thermal Sciences – has given me a deep passion for the subject that I love to share with others. For over four years, I have found immense joy in the classroom, guiding students through challenging concepts and helping them connect theory to the real world. I am excited by the opportunity to bring both my academic background and my genuine enthusiasm for teaching to a role where I can support and inspire the next generation of students.”
